Solid State Drive

Solid State Drive or SSD is the medium used for storage of data that uses microchips, typically flash storage, to store data which does not require moving parts. This lack of moving parts decreases power usage and increases performance beyond what is capable with HDD.

Due to their higher cost and unproven reliability, Pipe Ten uses SSD in circumstances where performance is the primary goal.
