The Role

This role is ideally suited to an individual with passion for technology looking to build on existing experience with bleeding edge web technologies; their availability, performance, security and support of, and make an impact on the delivery of hosted infrastructure services.

Your time at Pipe Ten will involve the architecting, deployment & maintenance of Pipe Ten’s customer supporting web application solutions; including local private and public cloud infrastructures. Pipe Ten being an application/infrastructure/public cloud agnostic service provider, the role is ideally suited to candidates with “full stack” understanding and interest in a wide range of web application delivery technology and method. As part of a relatively small but expert team, you will have the opportunity and support to find your place to further the mutual goals of the business and colleagues. You will have the opportunity to work in a varied and diverse environment working on a mixture of development and operational tasks including that of using various provisioning, monitoring and configuration tools to manage the environment. You will get the chance to investigate new technologies and be involved in project-based activities alongside the other general duties of the Engineering Team.

Minimum Requirements

  • You must have either recent (last 6 months), or previous significant (years) commercial/production/live experience of:
    • Linux Server Environments.
    • Web Application Environments.
  • You must demonstrate a driven, committed, flexible and proactive approach to work.
  • You must have the ability to work well under pressure.
  • You must take professional pride and seek to exceed expectations.

Other Desirable Skills or Knowledge

  • You should be able to demonstrate development/programming experience in the areas of software or systems automation.
  • You should be familiar with working within a high security and/or compliance controlled digital environment.
  • You should have a passion for technology both inside and outside the working environment.
  • Demonstrate working understanding of:
    • Web Infrastructure such as Http(s), Website files, DNS, Email, FTP and Databases.
    • Server Virtualisation & Containerisation Technologies.
    • Cloud Services.
    • TCP/IP Networking.
    • Scripting/Development/Programming for for Systems Administration.
    • Backup & Disaster Recovery Techniques.
  • We value experience and example of skill over certification, but they help qualify minimum expectations if you have them.
  • A team player able to work autonomously and with minimal supervision in a small individually focused team.
